Developer Archetype Entertainment today released more information about their highly-anticipated sci-fi RPG Exodus.
For me personally, Exodus was one of the most interesting announcements at The Game Awards 2023. I like the sci-fi concept built around the Time Dilation, which will certainly result in some mindblowing stuff and rich choice and consequence scenarios.
Since the reveal, the developer Archetype Entertainment have been sharing plenty of information about Exodus, introducing players to the world, various species that they'll find on their travels and more.

In the latest info dump on their official blog, the dev team revealed new details on Silicates, an alien life form that can create symbiotic relationships with humans. According to the developers, Silicates transform into powerful Daemons when touched, allowing them to fight against the Celestials as living weapons.
In case you're unfamiliar with Celestials, they are basically the first settlers from Earth to reach Centauri and have evolved into something unrecognisable and terrifying, making them the biggest threat to humanity.
Here's a very interesting bit about Daemons and how they form that I've noticed in the new blog post:
"Only with the touch of a human does the symbiotic bond awaken, allowing the Silicate to hatch and merge with human flesh. For most, this merger is fatal. But for a precious few, it is transcendent. Once a human bonds with a silicate their transformation is radical... and permanent.
As the saying goes, what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. The symbiotic union of humans and silicate creates a new being, known as a Daemon. The individual’s skin changes, becoming translucent but virtually impervious. Their musculature evolves, giving them incredible speed, strength, and other physical abilities. They become something greater–something even Celestials fear"

I have to say, the lore of Exodus reads like a classic sci-fi novel and only gets me even more excited to see more of the game and of course, learn about the story, which is shaping up to be something quite spectacular.
Archetype also shared some new concept art, revealing all the shapes and sizes of Daemons and they look quite hostile, which is interesting given that the new info doesn't clearly state whether these folks are a friend or a foe.

Exodus is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC but does not have a release date at the moment. If I had to guess, I'd say this one is probably slated for a 2025 launch as we haven't really seen any gameplay or in-engine footage just yet.
