THE PROBLEM IS EXCESS SPIN VIBRAT IO N AND SHAKING ALL SPEEDS

For model number MVWB765FW3

Official Whirlpool W11393685 Gearcase – PartSelect.com (2)

Hello Steven, thank you for your question! If your washing machine is shaking violently, the culprit may be inside. Check to see if the washer is overloaded or if a bulky item is causing it to become unbalanced. If all is well on the inside, it is also possible that the washer is unlevel or unbalanced due to improper installation or uneven floors. Check that all four legs are in contact with the floor or place a leveler on top of the washer. If your washer is old and you hear a loud banging or clanging during the spin cycle, it is possible the shock absorbers or drum bearings have worn out, causing the basket or drum to get out of balance. If the problem persists, you will need to inspect the following parts that may need to be replaced: suspension rods, part number PS12347544, impact absorber, part number PS12349006, and dampening pad, part number PS11746560. Please reach out to customer service if you need help placing an order. Glad to be of help!

Hello, in your last recommendation you mentioned that the gearcase could be the problem. I wanted to see if there is a way to verify this is the issue or if it is a trial basis? Also is there a tub seal/bearing seal that I need to purchase or any special tools to replace the gearcase?Thank you

Official Whirlpool W11393685 Gearcase – PartSelect.com (11)

Hi Derrick, thank you for the question. You can verify this by carrying out an inspection test:1. Begin by unplugging your washer.2. Remove the cabinet's fastening screws and remove the cabinet itself.3. Now you will need to locate your gearcase.4. Once you have located the gearcase, plug your washing machine back in and run a wash cycle to determine if the gearcase is the source of the problem. A faulty gearcase will make strange noises during operation. Use caution when performing this step, as the internal components of your washer are exposed. If the gearcase is noisy during this test, you need a replacement gearcase. Also, the bearing is not available separately but comes as a part of the gearcase, part number PS12741641. You may need a 7/16 socket and a spanner nut wrench for the removal of this part. We hope this information helps!

Washer was in the middle of a wash cycle when it suddenly started making a loud stripping or grinding noise, it then refused to continue the cycle and drum would not move lid would lock and then not move, after a couple of attempts to get it going it would only default to locking the lid and flashing the power button, please note that during the attempts to start I noticed the drum moving slightly and even spinning quite slowly trying too do a sense cycle but not able to get enough speed, it sounds like a trans but I would appreciate your expert opinion.

Whirlpool washer WTW8040DW0 showing error code F7E5 I have replaced the clutch and still won’t spin and giving the same error code. What is wrong ?

For model number 2703922015

Official Whirlpool W11393685 Gearcase – PartSelect.com (15)

Hello Scott, thank you for contacting us. Based on our research, the F7E5 error code on your washer means the main board has detected a shifter failure. This happens when the shifter is not engaging or disengaging for wash or spin mode. If you have already replaced the clutch and it does not resolve the issue, then your transmission itself has something failing internally. We would recommend checking the gearcase, part number PS12741641. If still the issue exists, then you may need to check the electronic control board, part number PS11723055. We hope this helps, good luck with this repair!
